About Me
I am trained in person centred counselling which means that I believe that everyone has the ability to repair and draw on their own resources to heal and to change. My philosophy is that no one therapy fits all and I have adopted an integrative way of working which allows me to draw on different approaches to help our work together. I will support you as we share your path of discovery, gently exploring how it is for you, your hopes and fears, looking at new perspectives to find clarity and understanding so that new self awareness can be found. I do not have the answers and there is definitely no magic wand in counselling but I am passionate about the work that I do and I am professionally trained to listen and support you in a safe, non judgemental confidential manner.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and am a Registered and Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) which means that my practice is deemed to meet the standard for a competent, ethical and independent practitioner. Furthermore, in accordance with this membership I enhance my knowledge and professionalism through continuous personal development and abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psycotherapy.
I am also qualified in Critical Incident Debriefing, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Reiki and as a Crisis Worker for victims of serious sexual assault.
My work has included counselling for the NHS, Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue, Listening Ears Bereavement Counselling, Lincolnshire Counselling as well as my private practice. This has allowed me valuable experience working with all kinds of people, all ages and backgrounds with varying issues and problems.
